JEAN LEON. A Man A Time A Wine

Image
Jean Leon ( Ángel Ceferino Carrión Madrazo ,  Santander ,  1928  -  Los Angeles ,  1996 ) , was an extraordinary individual. He had a rare instinct for staying ahead of his time. He also had the romantic gifts of a visionary, driven by a dynamic and tireless personality when facing enormous challenges and obstacles. It is a thrilling story, captured in a video inspired by the real life of the winery's founder. Journey through time from the late 1940s until the present. Revisit the glamour and style of a bygone era and discover the surprising experiences of a visionary man who achieved two of his biggest dreams: to create the most prestigious restaurant in Hollywood and to make a wine that would delight his select clientele. Many wines have a story to tell. But few tell one as incredible as the story of Jean Leon.

THE TARAHUMARA: BORN TO RUN?

Image
Nestled in northern Mexico and the canyons of the Sierra Madre Occidental is a small tribe of indigenous people known as the Tarahumara. They call themselves Rarámuri, loosely translated as "running people," "foot-runner," "swift of foot," or "he who walks well." They are known for evading the Spanish conquerors in the sixteenth century and keeping their cave-dwelling culture alive and secluded. They are also known for their long distance running and their superior health, not displaying the common health issues of "modern" societies. So what is the Tarahumara story and what can we learn from them? How can we use their history as an example for our own primal living? For some they may not be an example of what is considered primal, but they are one of the closest we can find in today's world .
